THERE'S A HOLE IN OUR ROOF !!!

AND A MAN LOOKING THROUGH THE HOLE

We've never been happy with the way we installed the stove pipe for our wood stove. We've had too many chimney fires because of the build up of creosote. I like a good roaring, hot fire, but we couldn't have one because we might have a chimney fire. Redirecting, and new pipes will remedy the problem. It's been quite a job though...esp when he got the hole in the roof and it started to rain. He kept on though and got the outside buckled down.

The old chimney on the left, which will come down

Another problem we had was that the creosote was staining our wall under where the pipe went through the wall, now that can be cleaned up and it can't happen again.

Sure has made a mess for the time being anyway

Saw the snow in Utica! Did you get any of it?

I love that picture of Dad looking through the roof! You should print and frame it!

Chimney fires can be pretty scary, when you look at them... anyway, rain can be a bit of a bummer when there's a hole in the roofing. Well, looks like your dad had no problem with it, though. And it is a very nice pic. He seems very happy. Well, I hope that stove pipe is up and running!
