HOME (Day 36)

FRIDAY APRIL 10TH
(Larry's Birthday)
"Home again home again rig a gig gig"
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Driving in the driveway.
MOST OF THE SNOW IS GONE
We had a wonderful trip.  I enjoyed every minute of it.
It's good to be home though.  I will summarize the trip later.

ENDWELL, NY

RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED FROM
OUR FIRST CAMPING SPOT ON MARCH 6TH
SHIPWAY'S DRIVEWAY
(Day 35)
Another tradition when we visit Dick and Anita, is to go out to supper
at the Broadway Diner on Watson Blvd in Endwell. We always
enjoy our times with the Shipway's.  Friends since the early '60's.
Binghamton was still reeling from the tragedy that took place last
week where a gunman shot and killed 13 people besides himself.
I talked on the phone with our daughter in law, Kathy,
for quite some time.  She was very much involved in phone calls etc
relating to the tragedy.  She had to interface with the public, families
of the victims, the hospital, newsmedia etc.

DANVILLE, PA

JOYCE AND PAUL BOWSER'S
. We left Carol Ellis's around 2 p.m. and arrived in Danville about 5 p.m.
Joyce served us an excellent dinner of a ham loaf, mashed potatoes
corn, a tossed salad, and pie ala mode.
Traditional we always go to the Country Cupboard with Joyce and Paul
Not only do they have excellent food but also a huge store will all kinds
of neat stuff.  I usually always buy something and this time bought a pocketbook.
I wouldn't mind having one of these.

YORK, PA. April 8th

Wednesday (Day 35)
Carol's House
We left Revelle's bookstore nearly noon and took Route 83 north,
which wasn't  originally on our agenda.  When we neared the Pa. border
I saw the sign, "York, Pa.  20 miles".  I immediately realized that we
were only 20 miles from our friend, Carol Ellis.  We didn't have her
phone number or address, so we called Steve and he found it on the
internet for us.  We called her, and fortunately she was home. Carol
invited us to stop by, which we did for about 2 hrs.  It was so good to
see her and catch up on family stuff and also reminise.
Carol and I met in Endicott when her husband was the pastor of
our church.  Their kids; Bobby, Joy, and Donnie were best friends
of our 3 oldest kids.  We have many many fond memories with this
family.  Carol's husband Bob passed away a few years ago.  We sure
missed seeing him on our visit. he was a very good friend and one of the
best Pastors we ever had.
Not a good picture, but I had to include it.
When Carol got the call that we were stopping by, she thought of this flour
bin that I gave to her years ago (at least 25). I had used it in our cabin
for a number of years.  She had used it .in Watertown and maybe
other places her and Bob lived. She said she no longer has a place
for it so thought it should come back to me.
Soooo, I brought it home and will find a spot for it. (again)

REVELLE FAMILY CONTINUED

JACK AND SETH'S BOOKSTORE
Baltimore, Md
Jack and Seth have been in the used book business for quite
some time now for 7 or 8 years .  They have this beautiful book
store which is very much like a Barnes and Noble but the books
are all second hand.  There are at least 100,000 books in the store.
Their warehouse is in Toledo, Ohio where they process 70,000

used books a day. They have 80 people working there. Stan, their
father goes to the warehouse about once a week. They process out
at least 5,000 books a day. Good job guys, we're proud of you!!!

BALDWIN, MD.

The Revelle Family
This is the oldest son Seth and his wife Kim and 1 yr old Nathan
They live in the house that his parents use to own.
Jack, Nena and Jonah
Rachel and her 2 month old baby
Rachel's 4yr old
I took 3 pictures of Stan and none of them came
out very good.  I think I had the close up lense on.
He reminds us so much of his Dad.
Shirley and Rachel's baby
Jack's Great Dane and English Bulldog
This shows the size of him
Jonah and Nathan
It was neat to visit this family. They all seem to enjoy each other
and they work together in the family business. We haven't seen
some of them in quite a few years.  A lot of great memories
of them at Endwell and the Cabin.  Stan lived with us for 4 yrs
during his college years. We met Shirley while working at
Delta Lake Camp. This is Evelyn Revelle's family who we visited
in Dowling Park, Florida.

KOA CAMPSITES

LEAVING FLORIDA
April 4th

The next two nights we stayed in KOA campsites
One in South Carolina and the other one in N. C.

This campsite was in S. C.  The marker tells of some of the
historical events that took place in this area during the Civil War.

We were warned here not to walk our dog by the lake because
the alligators will grab a dog.

We left camp after Church on TV and had breakfast at Shoney's
We stayed in another KOA Sunday night in South Carolina.  (April 5th )
Tonight (April 6) we are in Virginia at Aquia Pines Camp Resort
near Washington D.C.  Leaving in the morning for Maryland.

DOWLING FL.

Advent Christian Village
April 2, 3, 4
We are about to leave here..
infact Larry has already pulled the electric power.
Not sure when I'll have internet again so wanted to
show Evelyn's picture.  We've had a great time with her
Larry and Evelyn in front of Dowling Residence where she lives.
More later...gotta go.

(Continued)
We drove  about 250 miles today (Saturday)  We are now at
a KOA campsite in Point South, S. C.  It's an ok spot, one thing,
we arrived hungry and they sell pizza here.  We ordered one and
by the time we were set up, they had delivered it to our camper.
We'll watch March Madness Final Four, good reception here.

They warn us here not to walk our dog by the lake. Alligators
are known to come out and grab a dog.  Larry wants to take
the cats for a walk.  NOT. Just kidding (I hope)

More pictures at Advent Village
This cafe is in the village.  We ate here a couple of times
Larry showing Evelyn some pictures
Breakfast before we left.

For those of you who don't know who Evelyn Revelle is, she was
our pastor's wife when we lived in Endwell. Her and her husband,
Jack were actually missionaries who pastored our church while
their son Stan was in high school.  When he graduated, they went
back to the mission field (Vietnam) and Stan made his home at our
house while he went to college.  He spent some weekends and
vacations with us.  We are hoping to visit him on our way home.
He lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
