TOURING BOSTON

FRIDAY MORNING

4 bus loads of us went to Boston for the day. There were trolley cars that drove you around the city, giving you an over view of the city. There were about 18 different places that you could get off and tour that area and then get back on the next trolley. We only got off once too see "Old Ironside". The tour was 2 hrs. long which gave us a good overview. The trolley driver gave us a running spiel on what we were seeing and the history. After the tour we went to Quincy Market and had lunch. Lots of shopping for about anything you could ever want. (But I didn't see any ADK rustic stuff )

I took the next couple of pictures from the trolley car. I sat at an open window which was not only cool but gave me a nicer view and easy to take pictures.

TECH SESSION AND CRUISE

TECH SESSION
Larry gave a tech talk titled "Search and Rescue". It was excellent, even I enjoyed it. He kept everyones attention and of course interjected his humor thorough out. Every
one loved it. He projected pictures on a huge screen of his cars, parts of cars, junkyards, before and after pictures, etc. People lined up afterwards to talk to him. He is highly respected here for his knowledge of engines etc.

HUDSON CRUISE TO HEBERT'S CANDY MANSION
Not all the cars went because it was raining hard when it was time to leave. It was only an 8 mile cruise, but well worth it. A couple from East Greenbush rode with us. I guess this candy has been made since 1917. Mr. Hebert started making it and the receipe is the same today as it was those many years ago. They also served ice cream/make your own sundaes, which we did.
Here's our car out in front of the mansion.
Note new white wall tires!!!!!

Dinner at Allero's

I COULD GET USE TO THIS

(Wednesday) We went to another nice restaurant for dinner. This time an Italian restaurant. Sea food the first night, then a steak house....hmmmm maybe Indian food tonight. I understand there's a good one in town.

NEW HUDSON SHIRT

All the guys (and some of the gals) have to buy the latest
Hudson shirt. They came in yellow and blue this year.
Larry/Dad bought the blue one.
Those are our name tags that I laid on the shirt

I went swimming tonight in the pool....very relaxing. Dad/Larry is still chatting with the guys downstairs. They're usually out by the Hudson's but tonight it's raining so they had to come inside. We went out with friends to a very nice restaurant/steakhouse tonight for supper.

200 MILE LONG PARADE

AT LEAST IT SEEMED LIKE IT

We left home Monday morning for Marlborough, Mass. to attend the Annual Hudson Meet. We took the back roads all the way and it seemed like we were in a parade. People along the way, did thumbs up, waved, gaped, smiles, pointed etc. When we stopped to get some lunch (a sandwich at Stewarts') the folks in there had to chat with Dad/Larry, asking questions etc.

The accommodations are very nice. I wanted to go swimming in the pool this morning but you can't swim alone and no one else showed up. Maybe later !!

Not all the cars have arrived yet...probably around 60+ are here so far. They expect over 200 from all over the USA. We followed 2 Hudson's part way, that were driving in from Colorado.
Note: 2 row...4th car in is our "49". This picture was taken from our room. I can keep good track of Larry/Dad from here. Hehehe Of course he's in Hudson Heaven here!!!
This afternoon is our turn to run the hospitality room. There's free soda, coffee, cookies, crackers etc and a place to chat with other Hudson folks.

Fourth of July Week

(I'm finally back to my blog, have been away too long)

The week started off on Sunday June 29 with our friends, Anita and Dick Shipway arriving and ended on July 6th after our grand daughter Sharah and her husband Bruce left Sunday afternoon after a birthday picnic with the traditional red velvet cake. Sharah's birthday is actually on July, 4th.

We had a very nice time with Dick and Anita (from Endwell, NY). It has been awhile since they'd visited. We had our usual discussions, out to eat, shopping in town, visiting the museum and Dick and Larry went on an excursion one day to look at old cars (Jon Battle went too). Anita and I scouted out the new ADK store/cafe in Wells and toured the campsite.

Larry and Dick after they flew Dick's remote helicopter

As Dick and Anita were leaving on Wednesday, our granddaughter Stephanie arrived from Germany with her tent and kayak. She set up her tent over in "her spot" by the beach. After Steph and Gpa cut a few tree limbs and clipped some branches, she put up her tent. The fireplace that had been there had been moved, so Steph and Gpa moved it back and rebuilt it. She piled some wood and started a nice camp fire. See pictures below.
