PT COMMUNITY WELLNESS CENTER

Every Tuesday and Thursday I tell people that I go to PT (Physical Therapy) But what they don't know is that.....well, here is my PT instructor.

Now the cats out of the bag !!!!

Actually I really do go to PT, this is Steve, my Physical Therapist . And I took this picture today....Halloween !!!

He works with me everyday. Here's what is written on the Wellness Center website. "Steve has 13 ½ years of experience in various settings including outpatient orthopedics, med-surg rehab, inpatient sub-acute and acute rehab, skilled nursing, home care and sports medicine. He has treated patients ranging in age from 4 to 97 with diagnoses that include pre- and post-op orthopedics, sports injuries of all kinds, stroke, traumatic brain injury, RSD and just about anything else you might think of that requires therapy.

Joyce is an assistant at PT. She records my exercises as I do them and also helps to set up some of the equipment that I need to do the exercises. We've become good friends. Thanks Joyce.

Some of the exercise machines that I use.
I also do many exercises that don't require these machines
I am thankful for all the help that I've gotten here. Everyone there is so nice and very caring. I've improved so much and continue to do so.

GRANDCHILDREN

THEY ARE ALL TREASURE'S FROM GOD
Jeremy, Sharah, Stephanie, Abigail, Misti, Darcy, Megan, Jessica, Mackenzie, Katherine, Samuel
(Note: Grandsons at each end)
Sometimes I'm over-whelmed with emotion
when I see them, hear from them, or think about them.
Their birthday cards, phone calls, little notes, just stopping by, their vacation visits, I love it all.
I'm going to show you just a couple of very meanful things that two of them wrote and gave to me. The booklet that Megan made ten years ago, I have saved in a plastic ziploc bag with
the note; "One of my most valued possessions"

This first note is from Mackenzie, age 7 (Mack and sometimes Kenzie) wrote when she and Jessie were here for a week this past June. (Kenzie turned 8 in August)

Thank you Mackenzie....I love it!!!

This little booklet Megan made when she was 10 years old while Jessie and her were staying here for a weeks vacation. Megan is now 19 (as of Nov. 7th) and in her second yr of college.
One of the pages.

THERE'S A HOLE IN OUR ROOF !!!

AND A MAN LOOKING THROUGH THE HOLE

We've never been happy with the way we installed the stove pipe for our wood stove. We've had too many chimney fires because of the build up of creosote. I like a good roaring, hot fire, but we couldn't have one because we might have a chimney fire. Redirecting, and new pipes will remedy the problem. It's been quite a job though...esp when he got the hole in the roof and it started to rain. He kept on though and got the outside buckled down.

The old chimney on the left, which will come down

Another problem we had was that the creosote was staining our wall under where the pipe went through the wall, now that can be cleaned up and it can't happen again.

Sure has made a mess for the time being anyway

MY LITTLE MAN

My little man was made for me in 1979 by a very good friend of mine, Joan Bozon. I can't believe he's 29 years old.
She excels in the art of ceramics. She has a good eye for colors, detail, shading and whatever else that's involved in this art. Joan also made me a Christmas village that I'll post on here at Christmas time.

Here are 3 of my grandkids (Kenzie, Stephanie and Kate) this past summer, with MY LITTLE MAN

Here he is today just before I brought him in for the winter

His semi - annual bath

Joan wrote my name and the date (1979) on the bottom of Him

The hot tub room is his home for the winter

He wanted to have his picture taken by the plants, makes him feel like he's outside

FJ and G RAIL TRAIL AGAIN

BIKING SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Those of you who haven't biked or walked on an old railroad bed trail, are missing a real treat. We have had the priviledge of biking on the Eric Canal trail from Schoharie Crossing to Rome NY, we've done from Canajoharie to Ft Plain, and from Schoharie Crossing through Schenectady to Niscayuna. We biked 15 miles on the Leigh High Valley RR bike trail at Jim Thorpe, Pa. We've biked over 60 miles on the Silver Bullet Trail in Georgia and many miles around our home town, esp. many times down to the Northampton Beach Campsite. We also enjoy just stopping in a town we've never been in, getting our bikes out and biking around town. We see so much more and also meet some local folks along the way. Try it sometime, it' s a great sport.

Starting out on the trail going north this time through Gloversville. It isn't nearly as pretty as going south on the trail, but we did that last time. Below is one of the signs along the way.

Linda and Rusty starting out ahead of us

Going through the Rail Trail Park in Gloversville

The FJ and G Railroad Car in the Park. There's also a large gazebo in the park

Stopping on one of the many bridges

Sights along the way. We also must have seen 6 or 7 cats along the way. I don't think they were strays, I think they belonged to the homes along side of the trail. We saw other little creatures surrying into the woods too. The leaves are falling fast, but there's still lots of color.

An old Ford truck and a kids tree house
The Oak Trees were especially pretty

On our way back to the car, note some of the trees are bare of their leaves
A beautiful crisp Sunday afternoon.
There probably won't be too many more of these days left before the snow starts piling up. Then we enjoy the beauty of the snow on the trees and hunker down beside the woodstove, read, and work on my history and genealogy and invite our friends in for supper, games, and good conversations and of course football. I love all the seasons that God has created for us!

Lead by Ellen Ryan AARCH Community Outreach Director and

A few weeks ago I had the priviledge of conducting another walking tour of our village. It was exciting to "tell the story" of my town as we walked on the streets and also went into 4 houses and the Northville Northampton Historical Museum. (Click on the pictures/text to enlarge)

GO TO WWW.SACANDAGAEXPRESS.COM and the above will be in color.

MY BIRTHDAY OCT 4

It's been almost a week since my birthday. Larry and I left home that morning (Saturday the 4th) and drove to Utica, NY where we watched our grand daughter Kenzie's Cheerleading competition (her first one). Her squad did very well (each one got a trophy) , they were all so cute. Some were only 5 and 6 yrs old. She was in the middle group, 7 - 9.

Getting ready to do their dance/cheering routine. Kenzie is the 3rd one from the left.)

After the competition Sue, Shari, Kenzi, Larry and I went to Wendy's for lunch, where Shari gave me some very nice birthday gifts. Shari had to go home after lunch so we continued on to Sue's house where we hung out the rest of the day. Sue prepared a delicious ham dinner and had baked me a birthday cake. We played games in the evening, Steve and Scott both called me while I was there to wish me a Happy Birthday and I also got to talk to Abby. (It was her bday too.

(Kenzie and Friend at the football game)

Sunday Kenzie's Cheerleading Squad cheered at their teams football game. It was a beautiful day. It surprised me how good they were for their ages. After lunch we headed home, stopping at several places along the way.

1950's EVERLAST FORGED ALUMINUM

When we got married (1956) we received a number of forged aluminum gifts. They ranged from coasters, bread/roll warmers, casserole dishes, serving trays, salt and pepper shakers. The only thing I had left of any of these aluminum items were 2 coasters. For my birthday, my daughter Shari bought me a tray and 4 coasters that were just like the coasters I have. I'd forgot how nice these pieces were.

The coasters here are exactly like the two I have left (I had 6 of them) I'd never seen a tray like this one, it has pinecones on it. I love it ! Thanks Shari.

Going Going GONE !!!!!

The crew arrived this morning about 7:30 to put the wheels on and hook it up. They were very efficient and sure knew what they were doing. Dad had to trim some branches and cut a couple of trees down. They went straight out from where the trailer sat, then behind May's fireplace and out through the woods. They were very concerned with the softness of the sand, so once they got moving they didn't stop.

The tires dug in as they started to move, so they had to put some "rugs" down to help prevent getting stuck.
