THE POND/DAM IS DONE

FINISHED...LOTS OF WATER..GRADED..NEW BRIDGE.
BEAUTIFUL !!!
The above pictures were taken on Sunday July 26
THEN
ON TUESDAY
July 28th
5 INCHES OF RAIN IN LESS THAN AN HOUR
What a shock...a downer and discouraging
But after we adjusted to what happened
and talked to Mike who did the work in  the
first place....we consider a lot worse things
could happen, so we can still be thankful
for the good things in our lives.

The Dam will be repaired.

LARRY'S FAVORITE OF THE SHOW

1928 ROADSTER

TECH SESSION..MUSEUM..AND...

CHATTING WITH HUDSON PEOPLE FROM
ALL OVER THE COUNTRY
Larry's Tech Session
"Search and Rescue"
There were about 30+ at the class
At the end of the session he tells
"Uncle Josh Buys an Automobile"
They love it!!!!

We went to Ypsilanti via bus (4 buses full)
They served us a nice buffet before we went
through the museum.
Quite a few years ago we were driving to Northville
from Endwell and saw a Hudson stopped at a gas
station just outside of Cobleskill.  Larry turned around
and went back and talked to the owner.  It was the
man who owns this museum.  It was the first time that
Larry/Dad had heard of a Hudson Club, and then the
fun began !!!!
More to come!!!

Hudson's Hudson's and Hudson's

Tuesday July 14th
They say there's over 600 Hudson's here
This is the Step down section, there are
sections designated for 10 yr spans

HUDSON HEAVEN
Can you find our Hudson?  Find this camper above..our
car is the red Hudson with the hood up.
Out to dinner with friends from New York

ON THE WAY

Our second day (Monday July 13)
Another beautiful day to travel.
Seems like every place we stopped somone came up
to look at the Hudson and wanted to talk.

We took the scenic route around Cleveland, along
Lake Erie shore line.  Beautiful homes for miles
We stopped at a Subshop, then ate them here
overlooking the lake.
When this little boy saw our car he said, "There's
Doc Hudson". He was thrilled to beable to get
in it but was somewhat shy so one of his sisters
got in with him.
Another interested soul and a willing Hudson Man
sharing Hudson stories.
We stopped at the Michigan Welcome Center
Another interested person.  Every stop takes
extra time as Mr. C talks to whoever is interested.
And while Mr Hudson chats I take pictures of flowers
and scenery.  This was so dark it looked almost black.
I picked a couple of seed podsoff the ground
to  take home and see if I can grow some.
I'm trying to catch up here...it's Wednesday already and
I'm stil bloggin for Monday.  Not my fault, couldn't
get on the internet until last night. More coming!!!!

HERE WE COME DETROIT

July 12 to 18th
The 50th Annual International Hudson Meet
is in Detroit, Michigan. It is also the 100th
Anniversary of the Hudson Automobile
We left Northville Sunday a.m. and had a leisurely drive
on Route 20.  What a beautiful part of New York State.
We even stopped at a garage sale along the way.
Felt funny going through Cazenovia without stopping at
Sue's, but I knew we couldn't stop for just a few minutes.
I didn't take any pictures the first day, just enjoyed
the scenery, beautiful day and just being together.
We stayed in Ohio the first night
Day two later !!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARI

Today is our eldest daughter's big 5 - 0
It just can't be possible !
 July 9th 1959
That day is still very vivid in my mind.
The joy, pride and "cloud nine feeling"
holding for the first time my new baby daughter.
She was the cutest, prettiest baby in the nursery.
(Spoken by a proud Mom.)
Here are some faces of the past and present.
Shari has always been very loving, caring, thoughtful and giving.
A girl of many many talents. Takes after her Dad.
We have thought about you all day..my first thought
was of you this morning.  I know you had a nice celebration
last Saturday.  May this year be very special and joyful.
I just had to try this new program my cousin told
me about. The only thing was that I couldn't get
it to use all the pictures in the file.

FATHER'S DAY

I know I know...Father's Day was several weeks ago
but I have been off blog duty for awhile,
so scroll down to catch up.
Father's day was a fun day.
Sue, Chris,Kenzie, Katie and Sammy, Shari
Misti, Jeremy and Sharah were here.
Shari and Sue prepared most of
the noon meal. I just sat and watched.
(I was still recovering from my back episode)
Larry opening his gifts and cards after lunch
Katie and Sammy discovered my garden cart and pushed
each other back and forth on the porch for half and hr or so.

FOURTH OF JULY

Every year since I can remember Northville has had
"The Doins" and a Parade.
Our kids and most of the grandkids have grown up
and don't always come back for the celebration.

Rory, Larry, Joel, Bill, Donna, Lori, Becky with baby Landen

and Heather. Missing: BJ, Paul, Matthew, Jeremiah and me.

July 4th 1993

Note that we are standing in the same place as always.

My sister, BJ (Grandma) and Jeremiah Johnson

Matthew Johnson

After the parade, we met Ruth and Bruce Hollenbeck and

their daughter, husband and 5 kids. They had plans to stay for the fireworks,

so we invited them over for supper.

They picked up some barbequed chicken and we had hot

dogs, salad etc to share. At about 9 o'clock

We all went up to the cemetery (our tradition) and

watched the fireworks.

Missed my kids and grandkids!!!

FINISHING TOUCHES

The Pond
The pond is filling up nicely. The bulldozer and other equipment
have left. Mr. C is finishing up some odd jobs.
He scares me especially since he does this by himself.
He dragged this big rock/boulder to the area with the tractor
and chain. The picture doesn't show how deep this area is.
This is out of focus because I had the camera on close up
Then he shovels some dirt on top
He's also been smoothing the dirt/sand all around the pond
with his little wheelhorse tractor.
