Here is a picture of the foyer project. I can't wait to decorate when it's finished

Here it is almost March already. I'm home recovering from knee surgery and bronchitis. I've coughed so much I'm sore all over. I did go to the doctors for it on Monday and came home with enough medicine to choke a cow.

The Odell project moved along very well, we'll probably go out there again to help "tweek" the rest of it after Chris and Sue finish the drywall taping and painting.

We've sure had our share of snow this winter and it's predicted we'll get 6 to 12 inches again tonight.

The foyer project here at the cabin is slow but sure. Lots of corners and small pieces to be cut. The foyer was the only room that I never felt said, "cabin or lodge", so that is all being changed now by my handy dandy talented husband.

Grandkids: Not a whole lot of news right now. Jeremy and Jenny were in San Francisco last week. I think he had sent his resume out there, but as far as I know he hadn't heard anything regarding it. They wanted to see what San Francisco was like, so went there on their school break. Misti has been substitute teaching at Northville, she stopped in here the day after valentines day so she got one of the big sugar cookie hearts that I had made (and took one to Brian). Megan is home from college on winter break this week. I called her and had a good visit with her. She loves her school and is involved with several service type clubs. (Good for you Megan). Darcy is still working at Barnes and Noble and has had two big promotions this winter. (Congratulations Darcy)

February Snowstorm in the Adirondack Mts of NY

This is what's going on at our house today. We got 10 inches of new snow last night and expect about 3 more today. It is absolutely gorgeous!!! Note the snow blown onto the trees from the snowblower. It is cozy and warm in our cabin, with a nice wood fire in our woodstove and love in our hearts. What more could you want?

Wouldn't you just love to be right here? I love my Adirondack Bridge

Saturday late afternoon

The closet is framed in...now Larry/Dad is showing Sue and Chris how to put the tape and "mud" on the dry wall. At this point late Saturday afternoon we decided to go home and that they
would beable to finish the taping. The doors will have to be put on the closet, walls painted, and the window framed in and a rug put down. I'm amazed at how much was accomplished in 6 1/2 days.

Our Odell Grandkids

Here is Kate, age 19 months and Mackenzie (Kenzie) age 7, Sue and Chris's two girls and of course our grandkids. We certainly are enjoying them while we are here, esp. me as I'm spending the most time with them. It's amazing to me that Kate is all potty trained and her vocabulary is so extensive at 19 months. Kate loves books and enjoys sitting on my lap while I read to her and she points out the pictures. Kenzie keeps me entertained with her cheerleading and dancing routines. We also play lots of games, especially rummikub. We fold clothes together too, for Mommy/Sue.

Saturday Morning February 23

Saturday morning February 23

After a breakfast of coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, sausage, and fried potatoes cooked and served by chef Chris Odell, it was time to start in again for the day. Gma is baby sitting, dog tending, and cooking (except for this mornings bfast)

We've been here just a week today, what a transformation in the room so far. This below picture was taken first thing this morning as Sue and Larry start framing in the closet. I think we are all feeling somewhat like one of those tv shows where a crew goes in and transforms a room.

Today the wireing has to be hooked up..it's all wired. The drywall finished, the closet framed, and taping the drywall. Quite an assignment, cause "Cramer the Framer" leaves tomorrow morning. I'll take more pictures at the end of the day so you can see how much was accomplished

Friday afternoon

This is the door into the new room from the hall. The first thing you see is this storage room.
To the left of Sue (bottom picture) will be the doorway into their bedroom. The wall they are working on, is the back of the bedroom closet and the inside wall of the storage room.

Putting down the plywood flooring at Sue and Chris's

It's Wednesday morning here at the Odell's. Yesterday Sue took the day off and helped her Dad. They went to Lowe's where they bought some more supplies including this plywood subflooring. Terry and Andy Odell (Chris's folks) came over in the evening and helped carry in the plywood and drywall. It was quite a job getting it all up those steep stairs that turns about 3/4's of the way up. Chris is coming home from work today at 1 and will also take Thursday and Friday off of work.

Outlets

Wiring...that's the 5th outlet, one or two more to go and then
overhead wiring for the closets. Several switches need to
be installed too. He has finished the insulation. I'd think
he should be done for the day soon, it's almost 5 p.m.
Sue will be home soon, Chris at 6:30.

Monday Morning

Here's Larry moving some studs around.

Today is Misti Laurel Yaddaw's Birthday

I don't have a recent picture of Misti. Here she is with Brian two or three yrs ago. Her beautiful hair is much longer now. So many wonderful memories of you Misti as you were growing up. I see you as a very focused, determined, goal oriented person, as well as lots of other good attributes and talents. Loved watching and cheering you as soccer goalie at NCS ... I was so proud of you. I enjoy bragging about my grand daughter that is soon to have her degree in teaching.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISTI

Odell's project

Larry and I arrived at the Odell's around noon on Saturday. Our car was packed to the ceiling with insulation, tools and electrical supplies. After some lunch, Sue, Chris and Larry dragged all the "stuff" upstairs to the room to be finished off. They spent the rest of the day putting up insulation. They got a lot accomplished and will be ready to go first thing Monday morning.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT

Scott is also one of our Ideal babies !!! (Note born in Ideal Hospital)
Scott is and always has been on the quiet side. He was easy to have around
well behaved, and we can't ever remember him having a spanking. He's
proved to be an excellent husband, father, and provider among many other
talents and attributes. Happy Birthday to our son, Scott.

CRAMER NEWS ll

I'm sitting here in my comfy Mission Oak chair, watching the snow come down and watching Landfill sittting in the window eyeing the squirril on the bird feeder. I'm also recovering from knee surgery that I had 4 days ago, which by the way was very successful.
We are in the midst of a snow/freezing rain storm, all the schools are closed. The boss at the bus garage called Larry last night to tell him school would be closed today.
We had a chimney fire this morning. It doesn't seem to upset Larry very much when that happens so I don't get flustered about it. He shut it all down and then sprayed part of the stove and chimney with cold water. Clouds of black smoke could be seen out the window, then gray, then back to normal.
Steve is working dilegently on the Kested website. Hope you are all checking it often to see the changes and additions. http://kestedfamilywebsite.googlepages.com/
I'm getting fired up (like I need to ) for the Super Bowl on Sunday. I trust you are all routing for the Giants. Dad/Larry and are having our own Super Bowl party right here by ourselves, with Sue on the other end of the phone to make comments etc.
