PANSIES "Viola Tricolor"

It's hard to imagine anyone not liking pansies, with their pert little faces, velvet to touch, and gorgeous colors.

I was looking for a theme for my bathroom when I saw a book on pansies. Hmmmm, wouldn't my bathroom look nice useing pansies as the theme, with so many colors to choose from. So, for at least 14 years I've decorated with pansies in my bathroom. Now it's time for a change, but first I must show you some of my collection.

These are a few from my collection that I had in my bathroom. There was also a toothbrush holder, cup/glass, tall can for toilet brush (it's orginal use was for yarn), dishes, cards, and odds and ends.

As I said, now it's time for a change.
Maybe one of my kids or gkids would like the collection or maybe I'd even sell it to a collector out in cyberspace that loves pansies. As I post this blog my hubby is putting wainescoat on the walls in the bathroom. The theme will be Rustic. I have already ordered new shower curtains from Woolrich. The color scheme will be totally different, which will probably prompt me to repaint our bedroom, closet, and hot tub room. One thing leads to another, right? I'll show you my new rustic bathroom when it's finished.

53 YEARS AGO TODAY

Today we celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary!!!

Where did the time go? But when I think of all we've done and accomplished in these 53 years, I wonder how we did it.

We were married in our home town of Northville, NY on January 21, 1956 . Our first apartment (and only one) was in Endicott, NY where Larry had a job at IBM. Can you believe he was 19 when we got married, had a 2 yr degree from Broome Community College and had been working at IBM for 6 months? I was 20.

We stayed in the Triple Cities area for 38 years, living in Johnson City for 4 years then built a house in Endwell where we lived until we moved back to our home town of Northville in 1994. We have 4 children and 11 grandchildren.

I could write a book on all the things we've done, incidents over the past 53 yrs and of course writing about out kids and grandkids would be more than half the book. We've made some wonderful friends over the years too, who are such a big part of our life together. God has been good to us as we've put him first in our marriage. He has blessed us with an above average happy marriage.

MY NEW BOWL

Blogging twice in one day?
I have to show you my new bowl.
I've had my eye on this set of dishes and have bought a few pieces. When I was Christmas shopping I found the large bowl but passed it up thinking "I don't need another dish".  Of course the more I thought of it the more I wished I'd bought it.  I went back to the store after Christmas but of course it was gone.  Went to the internet, not there either.
Yesterday we were in a Kohl's in Clifton Park...there was the bowl !!!  Can you believe I almost didn't get it "again"?  Duh !!  It was on sale for 40% off plus I got another 15% off at the register.  I knew right where I wanted to put it, and sure enough it says just what I wanted it too and knew it would.
The bowl is 11 inches across the top
Now I wish I'd bought the mugs to go with it!!!  Will I never learn?

Here is one of the 4 small plates I have and the tray

OUR DRIVEWAY

It's been awhile since I've blogged. My friends keep telling me to get at it! Last night my cousin Tom from California suggested I send a few snow pictures to get me started. Here is a picture I took yesterday when we left the driveway on our way shopping and out to dinner.
