THIS MAKES ME NERVOUS

Every little noise I hear I think it's the ladder getting ready to fall over !!!!

He's 72 and probably shouldn't be doing this....but try and stop him!

I know, it should have been done years ago, but it wasn't. Now he's thinking that it should be done for insulation, what with the price of fuel so high. That's what has motivated him to get it done.

Impatients

These probably won't last much longer so want to capture them so I can look at them this winter. They are planted in a plastic container, which is in this old tool box which belonged to my husbands grandfather Ernest Culver.

MOVING MOM'S SHED TO THE NEIGHBORS

" A Happy Day in the Neighborhood"

Mom's trailer has been sold and will be moved shortly. The shed the Crannell boys put together for her needed to be moved so the trailer could be pulled out. We gave the shed to Craig and MaryAnn May, our neighbors that live in my brothers old house. Craig helped Larry, even with his painful back and legs. He fell off a ladder a month or so ago and is still hurting pretty badly.

"Just a bit more"

Oops that branch is in the way. I yelled, STOP ! But he didn't hear me, and tore a board off the door. He had to get off the tractor and cut the branch off with the chainsaw.

Craig said he would paint the shed red to match their house.

Back over to where the shed had been to pick up the cement blocks etc to put under the shed.

Sam stayed right with us the whole time.

When the shed was finally in place, Sam had to go inside and inspect it.

BLUE MT LAKE MUSEUM RUSTIC FAIR

One of my most favorite places to visit !!!

"Organic, Natural, Contemporary, Creations from the Wilderness"

Each years the ADK Blue Mt. Lake Museum hosts the top of the line artisans for a two day weekend. We planned on attending on Saturday, but we had the outskirt rains of hurricane Hanna, so we waited and went Sunday, which was a beautiful sunny Adirondack day. The leaves are just beginning to turn in spots so we had that added beauty to behold.

Some ADK chairs beside the little pond.....we could sit here for a rest and also hear live music in the background. Fiddles, mandolines, guitars and other country instruments.

Isn't this a beautiful hanging lamp? I fell in love with it. It would look soooooooo heavenly over my table in the cabin. Not sure I can justify the cost of it though. It is handpainted and they will custom make one with the scenes/pictures of your choice. I could have our cabin and scenes on our property painted on it.

Larry bought me this pin at the museum store. A nice memento of the day and also of our kayaking together. I usually always buy something at this fair, something for the cabin that I wouldn't ordinarily just go out and buy. (I save my historian money for this splurghing) This year I didn't buy anything...hmmmmm. maybe I should buy that hanging lamp What do you think?

MACKENZIE STARTS 3RD GRADE

Mackenzie "Kenzie", grandchild #9. I can't believe she's already in 3rd grade. I remember quite a bit about being in 3rd grade. I had my first crush on my husband and I think I was the teachers pet that year.

Kenzie is eight years old and a cheerleader. As soon as I get a picture of her in her uniform, I'll post it. We will be going to her cheerleading competition in October and will also get to see her cheer at one of the games.

Historical Societies Annual Picnic

Our Historical Society had it's annual picnic in the Town of Northampton Park

which is next to our historical museum. The NNHS meets the first Wednesday of the month (except for Jan., Feb., July and August). We have speakers at each meeting who bring us a little more insight into our history.

We were entertained by LeRoy Lane, Ermina Pincombe, and my husband, Larry

Garage Sale Find

My daughter Sue mentioned that if I ever saw a buffet in a garage sale that she'd like to have one if the price was right. Old Eagle Eye Garage Sale Expert" spied the one below and the price was right...only $10.00. I couldn't pass it up, but then Sue said she wasn't quite ready for one. I didn't think I needed it, so was going to take it to the local Red Barn and put it on consignment.

Then on second thought , "maybe I could use it for my tablecloths, placemats etc." I started stripping it. It had been lacquered, so it didn't take much to scrape that finish off.

It isn't really "my style". I'd love to be able to replace the drawers and "twig" them. Don't know if that is possible.

I love this basket that I bought about a week before I bought this buffet. It was an old basket that contained furs from New York City. It goes perfectly on this buffet.

Guess I'll keep the buffet for awhile anyway, it's great storage and maybe I can get some one to put new drawers or drawer fronts on it. What do you think?
